BEACH BUNNY // LOUISVILLE, KY

Embarking on their 2025 Tunnel Vision tour, Beach Bunny made their way to Louisville, KY on 4/18 to play a sold out show at Mercury Ballroom. Shortly after doors opened, the room quickly filled with many fans from various different age groups, many of which were wearing bunny ears.
Opening the night was math rock group, Pool Kids. I was not initially familiarized with their music prior to the set, but can confidently say they gained a new fan as they absolutely blew me away with their energy and ethereal melodies. The amount of energy they packed into such a small set is something to recognize, along with the many moments where they engaged and connected with the audience.
Roughly a half hour after Pool Kids left the stage, it was time for Beach Bunny to make their appearance. I overheard many fans in the audience counting down the minutes until the clock reached 9:00pm. The lights dimmed shortly after 9, and Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” began playing which had the audience, including me, singing along as they waited for the band to grace the stage.
The band kicked off their setlist with “Cloud 9”, a major staple in their discography. The sound of the audience harmonizing with vocalist Lili Trifilio echoed throughout the room, as there was not a single person in that room who didn’t know the lyrics to that song.
Progressing through their set, they performed many songs off of their upcoming album “Tunnel Vision”, which releases on April 24th, blending introspective lyrics with their signature indie pop sound. All in all, if indie pop had a prom, this would’ve been it. Beach Bunny's performance was a testament to their artistic evolution, offering a night filled with infectious energy and heartfelt connection.
