Maddie Regent Drops “The other shoe”

If you’re looking for an anthem for people that can’t figure out what’s going on with their significant other but you know for a FACT there’s something weird? Maddie Regent’s latest single “The other shoe”  is your new go to. 

Toronto native and recent New Yorker, Maddie Regent, brings us a pop infused declaration that she knows what’s up with this dude! A lyrically strong story quickly unfolds as we navigate the minefield of how rumors surface and turn into a harrowing reality despite all of your efforts to believe otherwise. With love displacing rationality, Maddie illustrates the complexities of loving someone that you know is actively betraying your trust, but you try anyway. 

On the other side of this, the chorus sums up what it’s like for most people in this position. You want to believe them for the sake of making something work, but on the flip side, you know it won’t. AND YOU STILL TRY! Are we crazy? Maybe. But it’s as they say, love will make a sane person go mad. 

With a strong, relatable message accompanied by a bright bed of swift beats and vocal quips, “The other shoe” is a bubbly trip through common problems that many of us face in relationships as we cope with the issues that stem from distrust. Using music as the optimal mode of connecting with the masses, Maddie Regent has taken a huge step forward in mainstream indie pop and we’re here for it! You should be too!

Maddie is set to release her debut full length album “On the phone with my mom” on May 16, 2025. With a list of strong supporting singles under her belt, 2025 is looking to be the year that she stakes her claim in the industry as a true contender and voice for those that want to scream “YOU’RE NOT FOOLING ME!”
