DISTURBED // LOUISVILLE, KY

Celebrating 25 years of their album “The Sickness”, Disturbed (along with Sevendust and Three Days Grace) made their way to Louisville, KY on their 25th anniversary tour to perform a jam-packed show at the KFC Yum Center, full of very excited and nostalgic fans from every generation.

Sevendust kicked off the night with their opening track “Black”, which immediately had the audience on their feet and bobbing their heads in unison. Formed in 1994, Sevendust is widely considered one of the early pioneers of NuMetal, and even after all these years, it is still very evident that the passion and energy are still there.

Despite only having a 30 minute set, they were able to completely encapsulate the audience with their most loved songs “Denial” and “Enemy”. All in all, it was a phenomenal performance and if you plan on seeing Disturbed on this tour, please be sure to get there early enough to catch Sevendust, you will NOT be disappointed by any means.

Up next was Three Days Grace, which many fans were very excited to see due to Adam Gontier finally making his return back to the band after he parted ways 12 years ago. It was a very sublime experience seeing Gontier and Matt Walsh share vocals, and the two balanced out their performance by including songs from both of their eras as a lead vocalist. It was a real treat to be able to experience this, and I know many fans were left feeling the same way.

It was time for Disturbed to make their appearance, and the crowd was restless with anticipation. Their set began with Dan Donegan, Steve Kmak, and Mike Wengren making their appearances as a masked Dan Draiman was wheeled out on a stretcher, a very obvious ode to Hannibal Lecter of ‘Silence of the Lambs’. This created a surge of energy in the crowd, especially once Draiman removed his mask and opened the set with “Voices”.

With this being their 25th anniversary tour for the album “The Sickness”, they are treating their fans with a full album performance, along with a separate set highlighting their greatest hits. Despite ‘The Sickness’ coming out 25 years ago, the sound they encapsulated on stage still sounded fresh as ever.

After a small intermission, they dove straight into their greatest hits which included their notable cover of “Sound of Silence” by Simon & Garfunkel. Many other songs including “Ten Thousand Fists” “Indestructible" and their newest release “I Will Not Break” were also included in the set, which had the audience feeling electrified and full of endless energy.

If you have the opportunity to see Disturbed on this tour, please do not miss your chance. Between the visuals, supporting bands, setlists, and overall energy, I’d absolutely want to do this all over again. I know many fans in Kentucky feel the same way.
