Live Review
Playing their largest headline shows of their career to date, Hot Milk treated fans to two consecutive shows in London and their hometown, Manchester.
The main room at premiere venue 02 Ritz was filled to the brim as Nottingham based pop punk openers, As December Falls took to the stage. Launching into their track Go Away, every member gave it their all and took ownership of the stage in just a matter of minutes. Lead vocalist Bethany was all smiles as she maintained high levels of energy whilst also interacting with the enthusiastic crowd. Clear fans of the band could be spotted amongst the crammed room and their performance was certainly going to leave a lasting impression on those not yet acquainted with the group. Ending the set with fan favorite, Ride got everyone singing along. It’s safe to say that As December Falls nailed the brief of warming up the crowd as they came, saw and conquered in Manchester.

After a rapid changeover, the build up for the evenings headline act intensified. It soon became clear that this was more than just a hometown show for local rockers Hot Milk. Despite not yet releasing a full length album, the band have already had a huge impact on the scene which was evident by the mammoth ticket sales for these two shows alone. Bursting onto the stage and straight into Bad Influence, the sold out venue was bouncing. Fan favourites Teenage Runaways and I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I’M DEAD, followed suit. Throughout the night, vocalist and guitarist Hannah Mee recalled fond memories from attending the venue over the years as a fan and how much of an achievement it is for them to be headlining the room. Their 17 song set contained songs spanning the bands five year old discography, including a brand new unreleased song titled Horror Show. Self described by the band as “Hot Milk future”, only implies the huge future ahead of the power dual fronted band. Known for their high intensity live sets, Hot Milk came onto the scene and firmly made their presence known. Without a doubt, the future holds great things for the Manchester Kings and Queens of Gasoline.
